Polo in the UAE has come a long way since its humble beginnings when the game was played on sand. The lack of facilities, combined with the vision of founder Ali Albwardy to popularise the sport, led to the development of Desert Palm Polo Club in 1994, home to the internationally renowned Dubai Polo Team.
